This year, STP and “The King” Richard Petty celebrate
40 years of working together. Aric Almirola will
start this STP Ford at the STP 400 at Kansas Speedway on April 22.

When you’re talking about iconic race cars, it’s impossible to overlook the famous STP No. 43 driven by “The King” Richard Petty for so many years.

While the iconic Petty Blue and STP Day-Glo Red made this car a stand-out on track, it was the man behind the wheel who made the car a legend.

This weekend at the STP 400 at Kansas Speedway, this famous paint scheme returns as Richard Petty Motorsports driver Aric Almirola wheels the No. 43 STP Ford Fusion for the first time this season.

“I’ve been an STP man since ’72 and it’s hard to believe that it has been 40 years since I started working with STP,” said Petty. “They have remained a big part of my career and it’s been great having them back at the track. I look forward to seeing Aric in the driver’s seat at the STP 400 as we celebrate 40 years with STP.”

In addition to the return of the No. 43 STP Ford, the 40th Anniversary Celebration includes a $43,000 donation to Victory Junction from STP in honor of Petty, and also a new TV commercial that will air this weekend on ESPN, SPEED and FOX.

Below, “The King” explains how this STP donation will make a big impact on Victory Junction.
