Buddy Baker’s No. 15 Norris Industries Ford Torino which Baker won the 1976 Winston 500 in.

NASCAR Classics is a brand that represents a show-no-mercy
attitude, and in 1976 Buddy “Leadfoot” Baker was no exception. With the newest
release in our NASCAR Classics line, Lionel NASCAR Collectables is excited to
present the No. 15 Norris Industries Ford Torino in which Baker won the 1976
Winston 500.

The place was Talladega Superspeedway. After a last-minute
decision to change the engine of Baker’s No. 15 Ford after qualifying, the team
transported the engine back to their Spartanburg, SC shop, quickly made changes
and returned the engine on the morning of the race!

In that era, speed reigned supreme, traditions were made,
and drivers fought hard to the finish line. Baker went on to win the Winston
500 that day, while setting a new record for speed of 169.887 mph and giving
Ford its first win of 1976.

Regarded in stock car racing as one of the fastest of all
top drivers, Baker was the first driver to win the “Big Four” – Daytona,
Talladega, Darlington and Charlotte and in 1997, he was inducted into the
International Motorsports Hall of Fame.

Speed, tradition and attitude – three traits that make Baker
the perfect fit for the newest release in
our NASCAR Classics line.

So for the first time, Lionel is excited to release both the
1:24 and 1:64 scale die-cast of this historic race car. With precision
detailing, each die-cast is designed to replicate the legendary 1976 No. 15
Norris Industries Ford Torino.
