We’re excited about today’s news announcing our partnership with Texas Motor Speedway and its Speeding to Read Program.
More than 3,500 students in the Dallas/Fort Worth area participate in this year-long reading program; and this year, two students who achieve their reading goals will receive a die-cast car that they designed as a prize.
In conjunction with Texas Motor Speedway and NASCAR, we’ve created a program where kindergarten through fifth-grade students will design their own paint scheme for a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series car and the winner’s design will be recreated and produced on an actual 1:24 scale die-cast. One winner will be selected in both the K-2nd grade division and the 3rd-5th grade division and have their car presented to them in a collector case.
The two winners also will receive tickets to the Duck Commander 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race Saturday, April 11, at Texas Motor Speedway while their classmates will receive 1:64 scale Lionel Racing-branded die-cast.
Once the winning designs are announced, we’ll post them here and on our Facebook page. We can’t wait to see what these students design. Who knows? We might just find a budding paint scheme designer in the process!
